The Rangers may have found a diamond in the ruff with forward Dominic Moore. The day the Blueshirts signed Dominic Moore in 2013, his presence was felt. Dom Moore has gone through a roller coaster ride of a career so far but this year might be the All Star year he has dreamed of.
Dom Moore has been a journeyman until he finally landing back with the Rangers. He was once a highly toted prospect that was supposed to come up and set the NHL a blaze. He worked and battled after falling off the NHL map multiple times. He worked to regain his form every time and eventually made the Stanley Cup Final. Moore's career was filled with many obstacles but he started on top.
Moore was a third round draft pick of the Rangers way back in 2000. His first season with the Rangers, he only played in five games but continued to work hard to get to his goal of becoming a crucial player for the Rangers. The next season, the hard work showed as he played in all 82 regular season games for the Rangers and scored nine goals and assisted on nine other goals. In the offseason of that year Moore was traded and that is when his merry-go-round would begin as in the next seven years. Moore would play for eight teams including playing for three different teams in one season TWICE. He circled the NHL map until finally returning to the Blueshirts in the summer of 2013 but not before another tragedy.
After the tragic passing of his wife, Katie, and a year off from hockey, Moore returned to the Rangers. Moore had some very impressive stats in his return to the Garden. Moore registered 18 point with 12 of those point being assists. These stats were good but his presence was felt on the penally kill. On the PK for the Rangers, Moore was able to score one goal, block nine shots, and win 30 face-offs that helped the team retain possession of the puck in their zone. He had a Corsi rating of 48.2% which meant he was playing more defense than offense. His defensive prowess helped the team prevent goals at both even strength and full strength. Dom Moore was also vital on the run to the Cup as he was able to score the lone goal in game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final against the Montreal Canadiens which pushed the Rangers into the Stanley Cup Final. His role on the 2014 Eastern Conference Champion team was vital to the team's success.
In his second season back with the Blueshirts, Moore has done much of the same as his Corsi rating has remained closely similar even though now he is a third liner. He has now won 46 face-offs when his team is down a man and Moore has been the shining star in gloomy, dark games. His continued hard work, leadership, and passion shows and spreads to his teammates even when they are losing. Dom Moore is an inspiration to all as he was able to conquer many mountains on his way to success. In conclusion, I am trying to say to VOTE AS MANY TIMES FOR OUR RANGER. He has had a long journey through the NHL and at 34 he might not get another chance at this opportunity. Moore has worked hard for this and he is deserving of our votes and he should lead the NHL in votes. So join me and my fellow Ranger fans as we stuff the ballots in order to get our grinder into the All Star Game. LETS GET HIM PAST GIRGENSONS and LETS GO RANGERS!!!!
